I am thinking about buying a brevis lense. And hoping to land jobs as a dp for hire. What are the common rates that any dps in here charge for their services? Does having a lense such as the brevis or the m2 make it so they can charge a little more?
 
I got a Brevis. Love it. LOVE. IT. Wouldn't ever dream of shooting w/o it. As far as rates are concerned, you should figure out what kind of market you're in, and base it from there. Also, there's tons of rental sites that you can base your priice on.
 
Brevis or no brevis. DOF or no DOF. I dont think you can charge a lot more unless your finished product is good. However you should get the brevis because it rules! I have one and love it!
 
the Brevis and any other equipment you own would be rented at a rate separate from your DP rate, even on the same production.
