Double system and removing DV audio tracks

I have a bunch of material that was shot double system that I am editing on FCP. Syncing up the audio files to the recorded DV is no problem. However, it would be nice if I could either delete all the 2 audio tracks from the DV video or just mute all the 2 audio tracks from all the DV clips. Is this possible to do all at once, or do I have to do it one at a time?

I know I can mute audio tracks one and two on the time line, but it would be nice if I could do this from the browser, so I don't have the DV audio tracks playing when I have a clip playing in the viewer.

I tried to find a way to do this as well. You can always capture without audio, but if you have an older version of FCP (4.5) then it causes it to crash. The Apple guy I talked to said there is a fix for this, but I haven't found the download.

I just have my main audio in the timeline, I then lock them, and when I drop a new clip in the audio automatically gets deleted as long as the video tracks corresponding audio track is locked.

you can mute all of the audio if it is on the same track with the green buttons at the far left of the time line.

Also unlink the video/audio files press "t" and select the track you want deleted and hit delete.

I think he's trying to find a way to do it in the browser. I'm going to look into it and find out...maybe someone at the Apple store can help out.

Yeah, I wanted to do it in the browser so I view clips not in the timeline and not have to deal with the DV audio.

Here is my work around so far. I sync my audio with video by merging the two on In points. This gives me a merged clips with a stereo track (the original dv track) and a mono track (the synced audio on track 3). In the timeline I lock audio tracks 1 and 2. I drag my merged clips onto the timeline. This knocks off the first two audio tracks. I can then just select all the clips in the timeline and drag them back to the browser. This gives me a new set of clips with just the desired audio track.

It is a pretty quick procedure. It's kind of stupid in my mind that I have to do it this way to get what I want, but it adds all of 2 seconds onto the whole process, so it's not a big deal. The only caveat is that you have to keep the original merged clip. I just put those in another bin. I'm sure I could make the new 1 audio track clips a master and then get rid of the original merged clips, but I haven't tried that yet.

Thanks for the suggestions.
