Double Posting Should Be Banned

I really hate double posting. Not just double posting where it posts twice, but where users post twice, in a row, in a thread. I mean there is an edit button for a reason, and bumping is cheap.

Now I know, I'm guilty of this, but I'm getting better about it. The only time I think posting twice in a row on the same thread is okay is when it has been a few days and you actually have some information that someone would care to read, such as an update. Or to reserve for posts of stills etc.

I know that there are VB hacks that will force No double post, or merge the second post with the orig one.
 
Man you guys are harsh.

Instead of banning people, why don't we just pull the guilty culprits from their families and bring them to a public place so they can be stoned?

Or at least whipped to near death.
 
Usually, when people double post, they are tying to get answers right now. It's a pain to deal with, but at the same time spreading the questions out sometimes brings better results.

If it is someone selling something, or just being a pain, I can see trashing the post. If it is someone looking for answers, and really needing them, I think it is tolerable.

Not that I would engage in such a thing, mind you.

This would be a great solution. I've seen other forums have that implemented. I mean, It's not a big deal, and we shouldn't ban people for doing it. It just annoys me on message board when people bump/double post a lot.

I can't believe I wasted by time by reading this entire thread . . . and then posting. . . dang. . . I'm off to DP on another thread, it's how I keep myself busy!
