Double beep on cross fade?

Hi all, Im new to FCP and was wondering what the double beep is when trying to fade together 2 audio clips. The clip is from the same interview but I cut out something and moved the cuts together which is what I have been doing through out this edit. Only in this one place it will not let me do the fade even though I have a ton of other fades in the same timeline. Also, above the area where I am trying to fade in the timeline it turns red when I drop the audio cross fade effect and the beep happens when I do playback.

Thanks in Advance.

Thats so weird that it has to be rendered because I have a ton of them in there that play without having to be rendered before and after that edit.

Its all from one tape. i sliced the interview like 5 times and only one spot needed rendering. All the other footage of other interviews are from the same tape so all the audio would be exactly the same.

Hey Noah, I watched some of your DVDs at a friends house and they are pretty good. I guess now that I have to get a Mac system for a project I will be picking up some DVDs from you.

Cool- please tip your waiter. :) Maybe it's too many tracks at once or too many subclips. You can always export out the section that is giving trouble and re-import as a new piece of rendered media.
