Don't know what rig to get....

Hey there so many options I am confused , I really am :)
i want kind of a rig that I could place on a tripod easily and that will be hand held with a stable way.
i am thinking about placing only a follow focus on this rig.

currently placing on shoulder is not important to me cause I don't want to lock my self to the shoulder POV.

what are the options for that? What can u recommend ?

I was thinking about a cage with Handle's on the side for walking with it, and with a quick release on the bottom of it to place on ha tripod. But I don't know really since has no experience with this kind of equipment. Will a cage with handles keep me steady enough ?

I am almost in same boat (looking for rig). I too have a D7000 and leaning towards a compact cage-so I can have options of handholding like a DLSR with ETV, and, attaching accessories like a shotgun mic and recorder. I posted initial query on another forum ('other dlsr') and got a couple of suggestions. I'm pretty patient because I'm learning as I'm going. DVXUser community is great with experience and help so hang in there and I'll do the same.
