Don't have Dynamic link, best way to PP -> AE

Don't export just open the Premiere project in AE and double click it. You don't need dynamic link for that.

I try to open project in AE, but the damn thing keeps saying it doesn't accept .mpg, so I have to convert to avi or something

Dude you got to give more info when you post, how could anyone have guessed that mpg importing is the problem (what does dynamic link have to do with anything? Why are you editing .mpg? What is your version of premiere and AE? Help us help you.

In this case export uncompressed avi or sequence of .tiffs. No more compressing to your already heavily compressed images.

I didn't know mpg was the problem until just now so I couldn't possible have described that in the original post. I also didn't know you could work between PP and AE without dynamic link until just now so please lighten up on me.

Why am I editing in mpg? why not?
I use cs3 for both

mpg is not much of a format for editing with...it compressed to hell and back... Thats why.

(Checkout the Adobe Premiere forums)

Back to the question: Without losing too much quality, what settings would you export as?

Back to my question : export for what purpose?

Exporting for the purpose of color correcting in AE, but if it's possible to not have to export at all, as I'm just finding out, why would AE unsupport an alledged supported format such as mpg, this is what I'm dealing with for some reason..

Also, if mpg is nasty, what format would you suggest editing with? Can anyone tell me why AE isn't supporting mpg importing or anything else besides AVI?

****EDIT, found the problem, apparently trial versions don't includ an mpeg encoder, things should be okay once an official version is bought, thanks guys!
