What a little gem of a film. Cheadle is great, as you would expect, and Chiwetel Ejiofor does a bang up job. That's two good films this year for him, the other being American Gangster.
Cheadle sure does make you feel for Petey Greene, who is a very likeable character to begin with, and his love/hate relationship with Dewey Hughes is well drawn on screen. Everyone is very believeable, and the directing is strong yet subtle. Good little bio piece with some period thrown in.
Nice to see Cedric "The Entertainer" and Martin Sheen in their supporting roles, small as they were... and don't blink, or you'll miss Vondie Curtis-Hall. This has got to be in my top 10 for 2007...Cheadle and Ejiofor should both be singled out for their work in this.
I don't know if anyone was in the DC area when Petey was ruling P-town, but it must have been a fun ride. Talk To Me is definitely overlooked and underrated.
