Domino

hmmm...

Looks like Tony Scott got a copy of Extreme Magic Bullet or something.

Kiera Knightly sounds like there is something stuck up her arse too.

I do like Tony Scott, but he can make some crap too. Enemy of the State is my favourite of his. I think this looks a bit crap honestly.

Can't wait for this movie! Looks very Tony Scott and Keira should be awesome and fiesty!

Damn though, your post made me think you actually saw a test screening of the movie... :undecided

I'm finding it harder and harder to put myself into movies. I prefer a more straightforward style of shooting...lately i get the feeling people are shooting wildly and adding effects in movies to cover-up a bad script.

I realize it's a trailer and i could be wrong but write a good story and let the actors tell it.

This sort of interesting. The movie is based on a real person and she dies recently (within the past couple months, I think). Last I heard, they're doing some reshoots to incorporate Domino's death into the flick.

yes, domino harvey just died a couple weeks ago. they didn't push the release back (august) so I am not sure about the reshoots idea.

personally i think it is cool that tony scott is mixing it up with several cinematography techniques as well as the oldschool handcrank cameras, i loved the look of "man on fire" and his bmw films short...

"Mickey Rourke, Edgar Ramirez, Delroy Lindo, Mena Suvari, Lucy Liu, Christopher Walken, Jacqueline Bisset, Mo‘Nique, and Macy Gray"

Thats 2 acting legends.

Mickey doesn't do just any movie anymore. Hopefully that suggest an interesting script.

Um.....SPUN?

Anyway, I like Tony Scott, but am I the only one who just can't stand Keira Knightly? No talent whatsoever.

This film looks solid and what a line-up! I'm liking it. I thought about becoming a Bounty Hunter once (no really when I was a Repo-Man). Tony Scott can make a film. THis looks like it might be one of the better pictures headed our way.

DinosaurInc - Dude I totally dig Keira. She has talent man! You might be the only one who thinks this; she's a busy actress and getting some solid roles. :undecided :cheesy:

Huh, it says "Based on a true story...sort of" on the coin at the end. They said that clearly at the beginning. I'm trying to find out how the 'real' Domino Harvey died...

EDIT: Pretty thorough article, very interesting person...

"Model, bounty hunter, addict - the story of Domino Harvey"

"Before she was found dead in the bath at her West Hollywood home, Harvey had made clear her hatred of the film"

"Harvey could have enjoyed a life of idle celebrity. The daughter of the actor Laurence Harvey, star of The Manchurian Candidate and Room at the Top, and of the Vogue model Paulene Stone, Harvey was born into a world of luxury and emotional turmoil."

Well she was up on some serious drug charges, and had a problem with them so connect the dots...

Kiera's aiaaght, but I laughed my ass off when I saw the shot of her shooting two M16's like she wandered into a John Woo movie. Kiera baby, if you've ever shot one of those you'd know you wouldn't have arm sockets left, or hit the broadside of a barn.:)

Tony is single handedly keeping the step printing and skip bleach industry alive:)

I still might see it though - Man on Fire was decent. :)

Cheers.

Yeah there are all sorts of rumors: suicide over fear of life in prison, murder by another person involved in her charges, over dose. Hell there's even one theory that the cops killed her, yada, yada, yada, whatever

It looks like the "true story...sort of" part ends with the fact that she was female, extremely tough and a bounty hunter. But that's it.

No matter, it's a film. It looks like her real true story would be interesting too though, sort of a another "Gia" film.

Those guns aren't that big; sides isn't one an M4 anyway (7.5 Pounds)? Sides....

It's possible this scene we are seeing is done in a flashback, dream sequence or other out of context manner?

What is the one in her right hand?

Nobody should ever use two guns at once. I don't care if your ambidexterous, this rule applies moreso if you have semi auto/full auto rifle/s.

Domino

As it happens, while they were making 'Domino', I myself was in the process of making a short film shot on Canon XL-1...... which too was called 'Domino'

If you're interested, you can watch the first 6 minutes of it here:

Domino, A Short Film By Liam J. Holland

It's 27 minutes in full length, but the whole thing is not available online as that would disqualify it from several film festivals.

Let me know what you all think of it :)

putting the entire short online disqualifies it from festivals? is that a general rule with most festivals?

festivals

festivals

A LOT of film festivals put that in the small print

Not EVERY festival, but a LOT do.

It's a pain really cos online is clearly the best way at getting our work seen.
