This is a new series on Scy Fy that's based on the movie Legion. I'm not a huge fan of angels and the war in heaven themed stories and the premier is kind of hit and miss, but I'll give it a chance for a few episodes.

It was a tough slog through the first 45 minutes or so as they introduce characters and try to get the audience up to speed on the story (even though there's an intro in the opening credits that gives you the general run down, war in heaven, angels come to earth, blah, blah, blah). It gets a little better with some more action later on. This review is pretty good and I agree with most of it (spoilers but there's a spoiler alert before you get there).

The basic criticism is where is this going? "..the show tries to decide whether it wants to be Fallout, The Hunger Games, Game of Thrones or, more likely, all three at once."

They pulled out all the stops for the premier, lots of CG which is pretty good, some good action and fight scenes, great sets, wardrobe, etc.

But I think it just depends on where they want to take the story. I like a good plot but it looks like it has to potential to bog down in intrigue with endless scenes of characters just talking about their various schemes and back stabbing plots.

I also think one of the main characters, the angel Michael who is on the side of the humans could go either way, interesting or just annoying. So far he's a 2d sketch of a "fallen angel". Michael is imperious but at the same time sacrificing himself to help the poor humans...and of course he is a sinner with certain very human weaknesses, and don't forget badass warrior with wings. Lots of room for development there so just have to see where they take it I guess.

So I think worth making through the first episode to get up to speed on the story and then give a few episodes a chance to see how it goes.

I wanted to like another Scy Fy series, Defiance, but ultimately couldn't get into it. The Concept is good and the acting, sets, FX are solid, but I just didn't like the particular aliens and cultures they devised for the aliens. They just didn't appeal to me the way the worlds did in say a Star Trek or a Star Wars did. Instead of being fun, adventurous, and futuristic, they just struck me as odd and not relateable.
