Could someone be kind enough to specify some top quality wheels and bearings for dolly wheels? If there are any of you building top quality sets for sale, show me your stuff. These will go on a Kessler Kpod.

Twocik,

Are you going to market these? What kind of wheels would you recommend? I know a lot about metal fab (I used to own a machine shop), but know nothing about skates - skateboards.

Thanks,
Grant

well when looking in to skate wheels there are two ways they measure the wheels. The first is the size with is done with mm the higher the number the larger the wheel simple. Then the next part is how hard the wheel is and is shown with a number then an a after it so something like this. 70mm 78a. Now the higher the number the harder the Wheel with the hardest being 100a. My 2 cents is find a wheel that is about 65mm and about 68a to 78a. When riding my longboards the softer the wheel the less bump I will get in my ride. I would believe that this would be the same case with a track, you would want a wheel a little softer to absorb any imperfection in the track.

Hi Grant,
Most likely yes, I'm working on a few other things first (hi hat, adjustable column, seat, etc..)

As for wheels, I've tired a lot of them... This can depend on a lot of different things. What size track, desired weight, how many trucks, etc.. I'd say something in between will work, to dense of wheels make every little bump feel like godzilla, to soft of wheels tend to make more noise & depending on your payload, it can wobble.

What I'm using is a custom wheel from a skate shop in FL, but I'm sure you can find the same if not better near you. I'm using a 1" PVC track at the moment and soon to have aluminum rails. The wheels are 55mm and the hardness I can't remember off the top of my head, but think the Durometer was 75a - 85a.
