Out of curiosity and some end of year fun, which device have you / do you use most often and why? I'm mostly interested in what folks are using in the context of low budget, narrative type films with a minimum of crew.

Of course it depends on the shot but as an example, I find that using a slider type dolly covers quite a few situations without having to lay track or drag a heavy doorway dolly around so I tend to use it more often. In another example, others may think that using a small, front-controlled jib makes setting up for shots much easier and faster than constantly moving and adjusting the tripod.

Just fuel for discussion... Also, it would be great to see what specific brands folks are using.

Cheers and Happy New Year everyone...

I would say my most valuable possession for getting smooth tracking shots is an old wheelchair I would never part with.
