Dolby 5.1 Licsensing Restrictions

I came across this thread on the Pinnacle board. This is falling under that DVD Logo thing where you have to buy a licsense to distribute your pruduct commercially, which is already included in the product you buy to complete your production. This is crazy.

That's not been my experience. Dolby has in fact issued me a license to use their logo as soon as I give them a demo from a certified encoder. The one that comes with Encore is not acceptable. I'll get SurCode for PPro when it's important to me.

Or did I miss the point of that thread. It was lengthy, so I cruised through it, and I'm no Evelyn Wood.
