DOF adapters and transferring to film

I've heard that it is no good to use a DOF adapter if you are planning to transfer to film due to loss of resolution. Is it true. If so, which would be better, an ED35 style static adapter or the mediachance spinning cd adapter.

thank you

if loss of resoultion is one issue, softening of the image is another. blowing to 35mm would horribly soften a sharp DV output. so using a adapter softens the DV and if this is blown to 35, i guess there would be more softening which dosent look good on the large screen.

thanks

I wouldn't worry about it too much man...

Go watch Jackass 2 in the cinema if it is playing in your area. Sure, DV isn't going to look absolutely incredible on a 35mm big screen transfer, but it sure looks damn good for being such a low resolution.

All of us here have hopes and dreams of our films making it big enough to need a 35mm blow-up, but let's be realistic here. If I was in your shoes, I wouldn't be worrying about it at all. Focus more on the story and direction, because chances are the film will end up on YouTube anyways.
