Does Vegas work with Mac?

Am considering buying a camera and the seller is going to include Vegas. I am just now taking first baby steps into FCP. Is Vegas something in addition to, or instead of, FCP and does it work with a Mac?
Sorry for such a basic question, but did not find answers elsewhere.

Yes, you can INSTALL Vegas on any Intel-based Mac with Bootcamp/Windows XP. But does it work?
I have had great success with Photoshop and After Effects on my MacBook. (I've had much success with some pretty graphic-intensive games, too.) But Xpress Pro won't seem to work on it, mostly due to an issue with the graphics driver. Of course, this problem may not exist with Vegas.

Just my 2cents...just was reading up on the use of bootcamp with xp. If you will notice carefully in the fine print that Bootcamp is a beta program it is basically being offered as a on-trial basis till they pull the plug on support. After that they will most likely demand that you buy the program (IE OSX LEONARD)..later on in order to run windows on MAC's. Beware of Apple's marketing tactics. Found this info in MACMALL magazine page 13 in this month's issue.

"Boot Camp is BETA, TIME LIMITED software meant for Evaluation Purposes ONLY.
This software should not be used in a commercial operating environment or with important data. Before installing the Apple Software, you should back up all of your data & regularly back up data while using the Apple software"

Perhaps that is why when I inquired at the Apple Store here in L.A. that if I was to buy the MAC then during a ram upgrade if they would install the program with xp. In which their response is NO because Bootcamp is a third party Beta program and they are not authorized to install it. But insisted you can download the program and install the xp yourself.
