MIRRORLESS: Does this GH6 charger support the PD?

Hi,
I would like to know if the GH6 charger supports PD (Power Delivery). It is important for me to know it because I would like to charge the batteries with a PD Power Bank with 20v voltage when traveling.

If the main connector to the charger is a usb c input then I would think you'd be able to use a power bank with PD to charge it with. If a power bank with PD will charge a MacBook, surely it will charge a small battery.

Why don't you just test this and find out if it will work for your needs?

I will try it when I am sure, do you know why?This is because my Power Point has a 20v voltage output. If the Panasonic charger is a PD there will be no problems because the two devices will communicate, but if the Panasonic charger is not PD, I'm afraid that it will be damaged.
This is my doubt.
 
What is your battery bank? "20v" output seems strange, are you sure about that? Power banks usually show the output in watts, such as 20w, 65w, 2000w, etc. That number indicates the maximum output possible, but it is the device you attach that tells the bank how much power to send down the wire. For example, if your charger only needs 5w then it will only draw 5w, even though the battery bank is capable of delivering 20w.

If your battery charger has a USB port and your battery bank has a USB port then just plug them together. There's no risk. Either it works or is doesn't

I have similar-looking charger for Sony batteries, and I frequently have the charger plugged into a portable battery bank in my backpack to keep my A1's camera batteries topped off while I'm out shooting. In fact, I have several battery banks and they all charge the camera batteries with any trouble.

Understood. I wouldn't worry quite as much if I were you about frying anything. Most power banks come with built in safety features.

The default USB voltage is 5V and that is what you will get out of any standard USB power bank.

If your power bank has USB-PD (Power Delivery) capability, it will deliver 5V to start and then the power bank and the device being powered can negotiate a higher voltage. The most common negotiated voltages are 5, 9, 15 and 20V. These voltages have been standard since USB-PD version 1. Newer versions include other voltages.

The Panasonic charger should be able to handle what you're throwing at it.
 
I use this little 65w power bank for all kinds of things, including charging camera batteries. It can suppy up to 65w via the USB-C port. Not every device can use that much power, but its the better choice for battery chargers if you want batteries to finish faster. I also use it to power my Starlink Mini for hours. Starlink needs about 60w to power-up, but then settles to around 30w during operation.

I looked at the English version of that Amazon page and I see no mention of 20v. Where does it say that?
Also, although that device will work, it's not a good value. The one I linked to in my post above has twice the storage capacity for less money (at least in the USA).

But I need a small Power Bank and I think there are no Power Banks so small like it.
Yes, your Power Bank has more capacity, but it is also true that mine is 100w and is smaller.
This is 20v, but I am not sure uf it is the same model.

Yes, your Power Bank has more capacity, but it is also true that mine is 100w and is smaller.
100w is not an indication of storage capacity. It only means that the bank can output up to 100w of power . . . until the battery is dead. The storage capacity of your battery bank is a measly 25000 mAH --- or about 20wH. That's not very much power. So, that little bank will be drained really fast. If you plugged in a 100w device, the battery bank would be totally drained in about 12 minutes.

The battery storage capacity is what matters most if you are charging small electronics. The bigger the capacity -- the more times you will be able to recharge your Panasonic batteries, wireless mic batteries, GoPro, drone, phone, or whatever you need to charge out in the field. Your battery bank is small because it doesn't have very much storage capacity. It only has 25000 mAH of power, which isn't very much power at all.

I hope you find that your battery bank has enough capacity for your needs, it certainly wouldn't work for me. If you can handle a little bit bigger size, like the one below, you can double your storage capacity and recharge more of your devices more times. I have this one and it is pretty small for the power it provides.

Even bigger would be better if you need to be off-grid for a longer period of time. Just for comparison, I have one battery bank that has 102 times more capacity than yours. But you wouldn't want to travel with it by air!

And I have one of these for more portability.

In other words, it probably cannot even charge a Macbook Pro or iPhone back up to 100% charge. It only has enough storage capacity to recharge those devices partially. Yes, it will do it quickly, but is that what matters? No, overall storage capacity is most important for recharging electronics out in the field.

But I already knew what you're telling me, you're absolutely right and I'm aware of this. But unfortunately I usually travel with 40Kg of weight and I'm always alone. Maybe you don't know it but I travel by plane and on each trip I take many planes and then I often walk. I usually do 10 thousand km or more. I don't go in a camper, so the weight is important for me. I have 18 Panasonic batteries, so the PB must only be useful for recharging the Pocket 3, a LED lamp that I don't use much, the drone batteries and the smartphone. I would like to do a test with this small PB and if I find myself in difficulty because it doesn't have much capacity, I can always buy another one. But I think that this PB could be enough for the time that I will be without electricity. We'll see!!!

Yes, and then I'll know the answers so I can spoon-feed them to you in simple terms that you might understand. That way you won't have to do anything on your own . . . again.

I organized my trip, not you. So you can't know how it's planned and organized. bla bla bla If I'm not satisfied with something on this trip, I can change something on the next one. jejejeje

You know, a lot of people would actually take the time to test simple stuff like this before they leave for a big trip, thus ensuring the trip goes smoothly and they will have sufficient battery power. But if you'd rather just go unprepared and try to fix things later that go wrong, that's another way of doing it. You go on and on telling us about how difficult your trips are, so it would seem you'd want to do everything within your power ahead of time to make sure things run smoother on-location. But as you say, no one is stopping you from doing stuff in a half-assed way.
 
I don't understand why you are so cruel to me. ;) I started traveling when I was 18. When I was 24 I had already been to India 7 times. At that time I sometimes traveled with a truck battery. Now I am old, much older than you, why do you think I am unprepared???? Please don't think that. ;)

Because of the things you have written on this thread. I don't think you have any idea how many batteries/devices you will be able to recharge with that tiny 25000 mAH battery bank.
For example, how many fully-empty Panasonic batteries can you recharge before the power bank runs out of juice, and how long does it take to charge? You should already know those answers.
