Does the RNG work with the HVX

Hey guys,
I found a guy in Dallas with an RNG 35mm adapter for sale. He only wants $250 for it and it looks like it is in pretty good shape. I am in Arkansas though so I can't exactly test to see if it works with the HVX. He says it will, but I'd like some input from forum members. I suppose with the right rings it would fit, but would like to hear it from you guys to verify that...
thanks

Personally... I wouldn't go for it. But that's just me. I'd go with a more reputable name. However who can beat $250. It should work fine with the HVX to my knowledge.

i have never shot with any of the 35mm adapters... i hate to go with a "cheap" version but then again, maybe it is a good place to start and get comfortable with before spending more...

yes, because Nike shoes make for a better athlete

Actually depending on what your talking about they can. They don't give you a skill set, but they can make things easier on your feet vs using some super cheap pos.
Have you seen pro athletes wearing dollar store shoes?

The same can be true of adapters, I haven't used the RNG but in general for the most part you do get what you pay for. Things like proper collimation, the ability to change the speed of the spin or vibration, build quality, and glass quality to name a few are all things you pay more for that generally the super cheap guys can't offer. These things can help you move faster on set and can help image quality.

well, i am helping someone shoot a short this weekend using his hv30 and the rng adapter... i will see how it works out this weekend. i bought it but i have not done anything with it yet... it is just sitting in its case right now.

It'll probably be fine on the hv30 and cameras with smaller optics. The hvx however is a cam that can problems with even the more expensive cameras.

wow guys, we used the rng with the hv30 this weekend. all in all the footage looks good (i will try to get some posted to vimeo soon) but man i tell you what... focusing that sucker was a chore! i am interested to give it a shot on the hvx... so another update at that point...
later
