Does the M2 loose more light than the SGpro v3?

Hi there,

I'm in the market for my first 35mm adapter.

My question is simply: does the Redrock M2 loose more light than the SGpro v3?

Thanks,
Jack

Everything I've read has suggested as much. My loose understanding of how the adapters compare in light-loss, from least to most:

Brevis > Letus Extreme > SGpro > M2. Not sure where the Guerilla35 fits among those.

Agreed on those but I find that the SG is very close to the Brevis, within a 1/2 stop due to the fact that the SG doesn't require as much zoom on the HVX lens as the Brevis does (in turn losing more light due to barrel loss).

Also, can I just confirm one thing:

Is it *really* true that the Brevis35 lets the same amount of light through no matter if the 35mm lens is at f1.4 or f4?

It depends on your Ground glass choice. You will see a difference with the CFL3 but with the stock CFL1 you will see the same IRE regardless of being wide open or stopped down to around an F4. Check out the test they did on the cinevate website.
