Does the DVX like this lens?

Re: Does the DVX like this lens?

Century Optics has a version of the same lens that mounts on the external bayonet of the DVX100. I'd get the one that's specifically designed for the DVX, since I assume they designed it for a reason.

ok yea, was wondering however because a friend has it. Will try it just to see. Was wondering if any artifacts would show for any logical reason - Or something else I may not be able to see initially.

Re: Does the DVX like this lens?

If your friend has it, definitely give it a try. The only likely problem would be vignetting at the wide end of the DVX's zoom range since the DVX has a wider lens than the XL1/2. Be sure you check it out using a monitor with underscan or in your NLE, so you can see the absolute edges of the frame.

Re: Does the DVX like this lens?

Didn't see this earlier, but that .6x is a bayonet mount for the Canon lens, not a 72mm thread. It will not fit the DVX without replacing the mounting ring.

The glass in the units is the same.
