Team I have a concern. I want to buy a DVX, I don't think I am at an advanced enough level to apprecciatte the upgrade features to the Dvx 100a. Besides the origional DVx price is easier on my budget. So I have read that the original DVX has an audio sync issue. That is a horrible feeling in post when the audio gets out of the sync on my timeline! If I buy a dvx can I expect that to happen?

No. The audio stays perfectly in sync. It just may be off by a frame or two.
The difference is, a sync error typically means that the audio gets progressively more and more out of sync as time goes on... i.e., after a minute it starts slipping, and by five minutes it's way off.
The DVX is not like that. It uses locked audio, same as high-end DVCAM equipment, to provide perfectly synchronized audio and video. But, due to the way the progressive-scanned images are buffered before being written to tape, the audio gets written immediately, but the video trails by a frame or two (depending on what mode you're in).
Most people will never notice it. But if you want to correct for it, there are a few ways. First, some programs (like DVFilm Maker, and I believe FCP 4) will automatically delay the audio a frame or two when you capture (if you want it to). Or, in your NLE, you can just slide your audio to the right by a frame or two. That will restore perfect lip sync.
This is primarily only an issue in 24P/30P. There is no appreciable sync issue in 60i.
The DVX100A apparently incorporated an audio delay circuit in order to circumvent this issue.
But basically, it's nothing to worry about, it's no big deal and if it bothers you, it's easily corrected by just moving the audio a couple of frames.
