does latest fcp make it easy for p2 files

hello guys and gals, I was just wondering if the latest version of fcp edits
720/24PN nativeley or if there are any issued with this kind of workflow I have a pc but I am thinking of making the switch to mac, that is why I am asking

Depends on what you mean by "natively". It does edit in the native codec, but it can't edit the original MXF files -- it requires the files to be converted to Quicktime MOV files first. Once that step is done, it handles the footage extremely well.
 
I have had no problems importing and working with P2 footage ever since it first came out...24PN all the way. And mixing it with Varicam footage rather painlessly. Yes, FCP 5.1.4 makes it easier, giving you the ability to watch your footage before you import it, name the footage, add comments...even mark IN and OUT points (although I recommend AGAINST that).

Converting from MXF to Quicktime is pretty painless and not at all time consuming.
