Does anyone Know?

I shot short on a dvx100a at 24p and dumped the footage into final cut for editing but did not realize the setings for capture where set at 29.97. I've eddited half of the film already, and was wondering, could I export the footage at 24p for film transfer or did I seriously screw up. Did I make a big mistake by not capturing the footage at 24p? Does anyone Know?

Re: Does anyone Know?

If you want to go to film then you should try to capture it in 24fps (23.98) and edit it at the same rate. The problem with editing at 29.97 is you may cut in mid frame since some frames are spread out over 2 video frames (fields) so would be hard to restore the frame.

Did you shoot in 24p or 24pa since that will make a difference as to how you convert and how critical it is?

What editing system to you use?

You may want to check the editing area here for your editor to see how easy/hard it would be to convert after the fact.

Re: Does anyone Know?

no problem Hermit.

go in the "tools" tab, click "remove advanced pulldown".

= true 24p, assuming you've taped 24p advanced

Re: Does anyone Know?

I'm using Final cut 3, and captured the footage on 24pa.

Antoine... your talking about Final cut right?
Please Tell me it's O.K.
