Does anyone know how to create a shatter effect?

Shattering effect as in a picture then it's shatter into pieces like glasses shatter into pieces.

If you have access to after effects, you can use the shatter effect

Yeah I know after effect has shatter effect. But.. I don't have access to it

Can't do it without a lot of work with bezier masks and track motion. Or with a plug-in like DebugMode WAX, with its transition presets, but I'm not sure there's a version which works with anything past V5 or V6, anything past Windows XP, and it was always iffy anyway.

Sigh.. I guess I'll just use the 3D effect and make the images fly away or something.. Was really looking forward to making the images break into pieces.. O well!

If its a few pieces that its breaking into then you can do it within Vegas, using multiple track copies of the video running in parallel to create more confusion.

Ive seen this as a readymade transition on some really basic video softwares (power director ?) or something. Unfortunate for you Vegas doesnt have it inbuilt.

I would try but my laptop already lags when I have 3 video tracks overlaying each other..so yeahhh I used a different effect to replace the glass breaking and it looks good, so it's alright.
