Does anyone know ANYTHING about this stabilizer?

This is probably a long-shot, but has anyone ever used this stabilizer? The ONLY info I have found is from their own website (which is Korean) and I don't know what it's saying. It looks incredibly versatile and though their is no US distributor, I was told in an e-mail that it can be purchased directly through the company for $499 + $20 shipping.

Any help would be....well, helpful.

Yeah, I already tried Bablefish. It lost me after the 10th reference to "emphyzema" :D

And yes, I am from N.O. Born and raised.

Please, if anyone knows about this, tell us! This may be the answer to those of us who feel they can only invest in either a stabilizer OR a shoulder mount, but not both. Plus, for various situations that would require both, you'rE not switching between contraptions.

Jarred,
Maybe you could get them to send you one for review?

Calm down, magicdave! Pull a rabbit out of your hat er somethin'... :D

Although I've only seen it online, this thing has been out for a couple of years.

One downside is that any bend of the joints to create a different set up will affect your C.O.G. (center of gravity) when you return it to stabilizer mode.

In other words, you will have to tweak until you get it rebalanced.

The qtechnologies site states that it can hold a camera up to 6.6 lbs., but a representative from the actual makers of the steadipod told me it holds up to 4.4lbs. ???

They advertise it with a PD-150.

I have a PD-150 and a DVX100A. When they're stripped down to bare essentials, I believe they weigh about the same.

I've never actually weighed them so I could be wrong...
-------------------------------------------

Their website says it will support an XL-1.

Is an XL-1 (w/standard lens) heavier than a DVX?

Of course, it's your wrist, shoulder and back that actually *support* the weight... whatever it may be.

Thanks Terry, I needed that to get back in control. Excuse me folks.

Just messin' with ya, Dave. ;)

I can appreciate your enthusiasm. It's all good.

I'd like to see a review of the Steadipod, too. ;D
