...Dust off your old 8mm or VHS-C tapes and watch the crappy movies you made as a teenager? I do sometimes, and I'm actually surprised that some are acually kinda good.

VHS-C, 240 lines of massive resolution. it was revealutionary really, because it was Web quality video before there was web quality video.

Lol, yeah I thought it was the most amazing this that you could put that little tape into that crappy battery-operated adapter and watch it in your VCR.

Actually this brings up a good idea: there should be thread where we post some of our first movies we ever made (like the ones you're talking about). That'd have to be a fun ride!

Oh man....idunno if id like some of it to be shown, but im willing to allow some of that VHS-C crap...JaydeeG, got the "Couch"...

LOL, hey, there's no shame in having improved over the years! :)
But I admit it will take some baII$ to show some stuff for sure....

JaydeeG, take the lead....

I think the only thing ive got , having not gone to film school or anything to have projects is a movie from 4 years ago on Mini DV, also aptly Titled "Catherine". Ill post it this weekend.

What about that one where you and Jody are ninja fighting in your garage? And he does a triple back-breaker to kill you?

I'll post some old stuff. I suppose I'll do an old one and recent one for comparison, which kind of scares me, but will help me out a lot. I need to know if I've really improved or not. I still have my very first short I made when I was 12 on Hi8, which was actually shot by my step-dad. I still remember the way we used to edit. Before I knew you could even use a VCR to edit, and before I had a computer advanced enough to edit video with, we used to rewind the tape, and tape over the bad take with the new take. And we did titles by either writing them on paper, or creatign a slideshow on my computer with the paint program and filming the screen, while i played a tape with music on it off camera.

Okay, so I thought I'd be bold enough to show you guys a few really crappy movies I made from ages 12-16:

First Film (age 12)
Stupid Pot Humor (age 15)
Zombie Movie (Part 1) (age 16)
Zombie Movie (Part 2) (age 16)

Man, I used to be an idiot.

A few recent films:

The Loneliest Man in the World (Part 1) (age 18)
The Loneliest Man in the World (Part 2) (age 18)
Life as a Zombie (age 18)
One Thousand Roses (age 18)
Lament of the Machines (age 18)

I don't expect you guys to watch all of the movies in their entirety, and for the old ones I wouldn't advise it, but if you really want to, it's all there. Sorry about youtube, it's all I have for now. All the movies, old and new, are presented in the chronological order they were shot in.
