Does anybody use Focus Ring with Stops without follow focus?

Hi there,

I just bought the camera but as we've to shot fashion shows here in Milan, we need a way to handle HVX focus ring so we can limit it on the camera that shots close-up.

I've seen Zacuto focus zip gear with stops but I'd like to know if does work properly based on user experience.

We sometimes put pieces of tape on the focus ring to indicate starting and stopping focus positions, and then use a second person to pull focus.
