does this guy *TRY* to be unlikeable? Good lord. Just his response to Raja Bell was so arrogant and pompous, ironically the exact things he was accused of being. Then Kobe goes and proves him right. It's a good thing he knows how to play basketball because if he didn't, he would have nothing. Even his dad hates him. That should tell you something right there.

For a brief moment, when he was starting to play team ball, I was starting to turn. Just one 10 second interview clip brought me back to earth.

I hate Kobe

It isnt a Laker thing; I was totally into him when he was younger. IN fact; I despised Shaq so much with his 'Im the Diesil, Im the big dog ...' and his mouth yapping (Shaq has matured in the last couple years IMO) ...

But then, Kobe got all weird one year. The same season he tried scrapping with Milller; he was all pissed and arrogant ....

I dont llike Kobe.

People like to make reference to the great ones; you gotta have class. He aint got it

Something happened to me in the last 10 years, and now I just hate pro basketball. I can't stand the players, the atmosphere, or this attitude that seems to surround the sport.

I can't tell the teams apart, the players all seem to be the same, and the game lost all the brilliance it had when Jordan, Bird, McHale, Barkley, Stockton, Robinson, Magic Johnson, and Rodman were playing.

I just can't get into it anymore, in fact I would watch curling over NBA any day of the week, and curling isn't even a sport.

EDIT:

In case I didn't answer the question, no, I don't like Kobe. Just another criminal getting paid millions in my eyes.

they were just talking about this on PTI today. The NBA, more than any other sport, decided early on to market its stars and now it's just totally backfiring on them because the stars realize that they're in complete control. They ARE the face of the league. So without them, the league is nothing.

everybody rags on the NFL for limiting touchdown celebrations or whatever but maybe they're the smart ones cause they know if the stars get too big... they'll be in the same situation as the NBA.

Freedom of speech and choice is a wonderful thing. God Bless the USA.

You can go on raggin' on Kobe all you want. It's your choice.

A few points:

Kobe's response to Raja Bell was like any man defending himself. What would
you do if you were being ragged on?
Second: "Even his dad hates him". His personal life with his family was amended back when he and his wife had there first child.
Third: "People like to make reference to the great ones; you gotta have class. He aint got it". That's a matter of opinon. I hate to tell you how many sports legends were not the nicest people and lacked class in there personal life. Ty Cobb for one.
Four: "In case I didn't answer the question, no, I don't like Kobe. Just another criminal getting paid millions in my eyes". He was acquitted on all charges. Ever heard of "Gold Diggers"?

Here's the bottom line, you are your greatest sensor. Don't watch the sport if you hate it so much. This is my feeling towards baseball.

I was a fan until these bums went out on strike years back bitchen' about how much money they should be making. Not to mention all the garbage with steroids that have polluted the great American pastime. Talk about being pompous. They have taken all credibility out of the sport. Who gives a rat's ass about records being broken when most of these guys are "juiced up". Not to mention the disrespect for the great ones who played the game before them.

Actually I though Kobe's comments were damn funny! I used to hate Kobe when he was younger, and before the whole colorado thing. He had a golden boy image like he so perfect and execs were marketing him to be their next jordan. After that whole colorado thing, he lost his image and marketability and I began to like Kobe because i felt like i related to (not raping a girl) him in the fact that he was not perfect and had flaws in his character, like a normal human being. Now Kobe plays with a chip on his shoulder and I like to watch that. As far as him being pompous and arrogant, that's stupid. If you've ever played basketball you would understand that arrogance is a good thing. In fact most of the great basketball players in the NBA were arrogant, you just never heard of it that much. Larry bird was arrogant as hell. Michael Jordan was the most pompous and arrogant of all time, no one said as much about him because unlike Kobe, people where scared of Michael.

You guys (if it don't apply let it fly) can hate on the dude all you want, I'm not big on him either but the bottom line is that he's great at the sport.

He is one of, if not, the best playing right now and he will be the best for the next few yrs to come.

I don't follow sports anymore, only boxing, so I don't know what he said about Bell but sounds like it was good.

I think that mostly all athletes are just really full of themselves... and at least Kobe has the skills to back up his talk (not saying its right for him to be arrogant, but I think you understand what I'm saying) So, in that sense I like him. He's a great player, and has matured, and battled through a lot of stuff.

I agree that a certain amount of arrogance is important for an athlete. But have some charm and tact to balance it out. Oh, like say.... Jordan. Kobe will never have that and therefore will always be hated.

Mentioning Kobe in the same breath as Michael Jordan is an insult to the original peach basket.

Kobe isn't even the best player in the NBA. Lebron holds that title and he's only in his 3rd year.

-

Go ahead; but you're wrong. See, you're all caught up in the Laker hype right now.

-

Lebron has been the real deal since his rookie year.

Don't get me wrong Briceman

Kobe is one of the best players playing the game right now; but Lebron is better and is still a baby rattlesnake. That is scary.

-

I'd take Ivererson, James, Shaq, Duncan, Garnett ......

-

That about sums it up.

Man **** kobe and his talented basketball/assaulting ass. Did you see him put 4 stiches in barbosa during the first quarter last night??? how shady was that, i could speak intelligently about why kobe is a ***** but he doesnt deserve it right now, maybe after suns take the series and we see what he has to say, and last thing, DAMN did you see him draining those 3s what a fking baller
