Does AE recognize Quicktime Ref?

Hey all,

Just got AE 7 yesterday and the first thing I tried was using it to open different file types. It sees QT movies, .omf, .avi, etc. just fine.

Then I tried a QT Reference. I tried to open a QT Ref exported from Avid (DV25 411 codec) and all I got was a black screen and unbeliveably nasty electronic noise. Does AE see QT Ref files?

Anyone else experience this or have an idea why it doesn't work? Not sure why I'd want to work with a ref file, more curiosity at this point than anything else.

I for one use QT ref files all the time from avid to ae work just fine...I assume your problem has to do with exporting with dv24 411 codec what other choices are their? I'll have to take a look at my avid.
