Does a Cabled BoomPole degrade signal

Pardon this newbie Question, but, having never used a cabled boom pole before I was wondering if the extra cable and connection you have to make from the poles base to the camera (or recording device )would degrade the audio signal more than having just one cable from mic to camera (or recording device ). Are the cables used in these boom poles of high quality. I have always used the very best cable I could get my hands on. I sure would'nt want a boom pole to add any unnecesary interference to the audio signal. Am I way off here?

Re: Does a Cabled BoomPole degrade signal

Using an internally cabled boom pole is not going degrade the signal. We're talking high quality connectors and relatively short lengths of cable, so there's no reason to expect any drop in signal quality.

Thanks Barry,
Top notch audio guys use cabled poles all the time, I'm not sure why I asked :-/ My quest for perfection sometimes gets in my way.

Re: Does a Cabled BoomPole degrade signal

with good cable you can run few handrd feet if you dont pass over high powered lines , the best performers without conecting cables since there would be signal loss
if you runing over electricity or kino flo or hmis long way is alwais better to convert the signal to line level
