Dodgeball game

I am shooting a short about a dodgeball game, except that I want to make it look as unrealistic and action packed as possible.

I thought of some things I could do like camera shake, slow mo, and time freeze.

Does anyone have any advice as to what other special effects I can do to make it action packed?

I was thinking of shooting a player get hit with the ball, and then greenscreen him on a chair, rolling backwards, as if he got hit and is flying back into a wall.

Any more ideas? Thanks.

well if u have After Affects u can get action movie essentials. cuz u said u wanted it to look unrealistic so u can have someone throw a ball and it explodes or somthin. Or instead of Action movie pack u can just go to google and search Unit K stock footage they have some good exploding affects u can use for free. If i were u i woud get Action Movie essentials. hope this exploding idea helped u great idea btw

well if u do i would definitively throw some exploding affects in there for example someone throws a ball and it lands next to the person and explodes as the person flies back. cuz u said u were looking for action but not so much realism so yea add some exploding things. btw i would love to see this project post it when ur done if u want

does the Action Movie package only work for After Effects? I have PowerDirector 6

"Action Movie Essentials" is just a bunch of still images .mov files, so you can use it with whatever program works best for you. I have never heard of PowerDirector 6, so I can't say if it would work for you. If you are looking to get into video editing, you might consider a mainstream program like Vegas or Premiere. If you've got a bit more cash and some more patience, you can tackle Final Cut Pro or even Avid. They all get you to relatively the same end product though.
