Documentary Storage (Mainly Backup)

Hey there,

I'm going to be doing my first feature-length documentary this spring, and I'm going to obviously need to get some extra storage to fit all the footage on.

Here's what I'm shooting:
HVX-200a & HPX-170
720/24pn

I'm going to have an estimated 175 hours of video throughout the shoot, so what— about 2.7 TB of data (not including the redundant backup...).

I've been searching through the dvxuser threads to try & find the best backup solution. Here's the thing—I'm really more concerned about just making sure the data's backed up than editing from the drives themselves. Here's what I've found:

Drobo
Inexpensive and often works. However, it's proprietary, so if something were to happen, I may be screwed. Plus, I hear the support's pretty terrible.

ProAvio
Not as expensive as CalDigit (and seemingly less expensive than Drobo), but looks like it's very much DIY, and while I'm tech-savvy, I'd worry about losing stuff.

CalDigit
REALLY expensive, but it seems like it's got the best support, speed, and storage options. It would be painful to buy for backing up, but may be worth it in the end for editing purposes...

Any suggestions from the experts out there? I appreciate it!
