Documentaries.

I have been shooting a Doc with my dvx over the past few weeks. So, for inspiration, I have been watching quite a few different documentaries about film making. Hearts of Darkness, The kid stays in the picture, and a IFC series called A Decade under the Influence are some of them. These three films have been not only very educational, as well as inspirational, but they have also made quite an impact on my taste in films. I am now infatuated with 70's cinema. I really liked that decade before but now... man, I love film. That sweet sweet bi*** has ruined me for ever.

Just wanted to share.

ha ha.. I turn the auto-censor off and you start censoring yourselves. I dont think ***** is classified as a swear anymore :)

Anyways, I must agree it happened to me a couple years ago, I watched one 70's film and i was hooked for a good 3 months watching everything I could form endless summerish movies to the Blaxpoitation movies.... I think "Van Nuys Blvd. " was the the one that started it.. wasnt even that incredible of a film but I loved it.

Re: Documentaries.

Actually, I found myself recently inspired by that underrated biopic, "Chaplin."

Not only told the story of a filmmaking pioneer (I remember thinking Downey was robbed for the Oscar), it makes you keenly appreciative of even rudimentary NLEs.

We've got it so EASY, folks . . . :P
