...and alot more including full versions of cs2 , audition, etc. We don't know if adobe messed up...but the links are still active and the serials are good for installing without later registration required. Hope it works for you. I downloaded everything I didn't already have. You do have to register at adobe as a general member but that's all that;s required.

.....then why does it work ? And why hasn't adobe made it pw protected...if that's the case. Such a simple solution, I think even adobe would have thought of it !

Here's my experience. On tuesday I saw the original post on about 3 different sites. It said you just had to register with adobe...which I did. I then proceeded to download cs2 full mac and premiere pro v2. Even though I use fcp, I've acquired a few xp machines that I wanted to put to better use.

On midday tuesday, the site went dead. Obviously adobe discovered that their webmaster forgot to put pw protection...or at least this is my theory. However by night the site was back online, with all of the programs ....with working serials . And it's still there and working.

My theory is that adobe figured that they've got to pay for their own errors. And most of the damage had already been done.

I registered using my real name and email, which was all they required...and I haven't received any email notice saying that my roof is in imminent danger of collapse. And if the link to the adobe forum in the forbes article is the last word....then why did adobe put it back online ? Your mileage may vary . k

ps....and also they could have put a disclaimer note on the page ....which they haven't. That alone tells me it's all above board .

The news here is that they screwed up and lifted all that pressure they usually apply so that people don't use CS2 (in this case) unless they legally own it. Which doesn't make it legal to use it if you don't own it.

They could put CS6 for download in their home page, no serial needed, just a button that says "click OK if you bought this software, CANCEL if you didn't"; nobody would stop you from hitting OK and using it, but it would not be legal.

There's no legal difference between using CS2 like this and downloading a newer version from a P2P network. Even if you get the software, you're not allowed to use it. It's like stealing a car that was open and had the keys on: yes, it was easy, but it is stealing.

Not true ....they could...they would...they should. It's all irrelevant speculation on your part ...and some of it doesn't even make sense -maybe english isn't your first language ?

A company offering a program , accessible to everyone ...the whole planet...with serials , with no disclaimer saying the foods on the table but you can't touch it ? Defies logic. Nowhere has adobe said it's not legal to access the file without authorization...which is obviously accessible to anyone. and if you want to be sure....register and find out. No disclaimers .

And there's a world of difference....not even legally on the same planet.... downloading this directly from the copyrighted owner's site where's there's no disclaimer or pw entry, and , or downloading it from a p2p with a pirated serial. Where in the world do you get that logic amigo ? You should guard your accusations. k

kurth, justify it away anyway you want. Officials from Adobe have clarified that it is in fact not legal, and you choose to ignore what they said. If you're going to steal their software you might as well steal the latest version.

Chris ...point out where adobe...on their own site states this. Otherwise you're wrong !

Thanks for this Chris:

[h=1]Update on CS2 and Acrobat 7 Activation Servers[/h]POSTED BY ADOBE CORPORATE COMMUNICATIONS ON JANUARY 7, 2013 4:05 PM IN CREATIVES,DIGITAL MEDIA
Effective December 13, Adobe disabled the activation server for CS2 products and Acrobat 7 because of a technical glitch. These products were released over 7 years ago and do not run on many modern operating systems. But to ensure that any customers activating those old versions can continue to use their software, we issued a serial number directly to those customers. While this might be interpreted as Adobe giving away software for free, we did it to help our customers.

It is clear that this in not a free software it is a fix for folks who purchased CS2 and can no longer activate. DVXUSER has strict no piracy policy. The link will be removed.

And here:

When trying to activate your Creative Suite 2, Acrobat 7, or Macromedia products you may receive an error that the Activation server is unavailable. As of December 15th the activation servers for these products will be shut down. The specific affected products are as follows:

  • Acrobat 7.0
  • Acrobat 8.0
  • Audition 3.0
  • Captivate 1.0
  • Contribute 2.0
  • Contribute 3.0
  • Director MX 2004
  • Dreamweaver MX 2004
  • Fireworks MX 2004
  • Flash Paper 2.0
  • Freehand MX
  • GoLive CS2
  • Illustrator CS2
  • InCopy CS2
  • InDesign CS2
  • Macromedia Studo MX 2004
  • Photoshop CS2
  • Photoshop Elements 4.0
  • Photoshop Elements 5.0
  • Premiere Pro 7.0

The activation server being shut down will not affect currently installed and activated Adobe software. You will only face this difficulty if you need to reactivate the software.

To remedy this difficulty we have made available a version of these software titles that does not require activation.

If you're downloading these and using them, and you didn't purchase them, you're doing it illegally. It's not terribly different from someone passing along links to a beta software download.

We're discussing whether we should take the links down from this thread.

welcome to adobe ...followup

welcome to adobe ...followup

...even though the mods apparently erased the thread, after being accused of stealing ...twice, I believe I have the right to respond. I did have an email from adobe. It said "welcome to adobe". I think that pretty well says it all in my book ...for those riding their high horses. k

OK, we're leaving this thread visible just to quell confusion.

Adobe has made it clear that this is not intended for general distribution, but for existing, paid CS2 customers.

They are NOT giving product away for free. You aren't even supposed to be able to find the links unless you're a customer.

Whatever Adobe's laxness is when it comes to accessibility to the web page with the links, allowing these links to stand is tantamount to piracy, so we've deleted them.

But kurth, when a thread is deleted, you are not at liberty to open a new one on the topic.

The ONLY reason this thread is still visible and these posts stand is so that there's no confusion.

Thread closed; that is all.
