Just want to get a feel for potential interest in us offering an integrated 3rd party catalog of stock HD video, video loops, ae templates, etc... it is royalty free content. for purchase. over 11,000 in the catalog at this time.

So, the question is. How many of you have purchased, or do purchase stock content? Is this a service you guys might find useful if we offered it here on dvxuser?

Most of my video work is in corporate interviews and such, with a bit of virtual touring going on, so it's not common for me (though I use AE templates from time to time for lower thirds and transitions). In the past, I've worked on some projects that were nearly entirely composed of stock, so take that as you wish.

Used istock last week- bought storm/flooding footage for a video on a datacenter boasting Cat 5 protection. I have similar footage, but not in HD.

I'd buy here if it was an option. Would users be able to offer material?

BTW, interesting avatar, Jason... what's it from?

I use stock often... footage, 3D models, etc.

We generally only buy HD stock if it is awesome and something we need to win a job or something we can sell to the client quickly.

Much of what we deliver is >HD now, often 3D stereo, so if we're buying just library stuff eg smoke clips or film stock or whatever, we generally want >HD and/or stereo.

Bought CineGrain a few days ago actually!

I haven't, but it is something I'm going to have to look into soon/eventually, as there are some projects I want to undertake where I just don't have the budget for some shots (IE: aerial etc.)
