Do You Dream In Widesreen?

I was up til 4AM working on a new logo and the DVD version of my zombie flick and then when I went to bed ... I dreamed in frickin' 2.35:1  ... and not only that but I was consciously reframing within the TV safe and letterboxed area  ... OK move this up a little there ... over a little there. Sometimes the dream would pause and I would reframe and then it would resume, or sometimes I'd reframe while it was rolling like big NLE that never dops frames LOL.

Maybe this should be listed as a possible side effect for DVXfest entrants.

It was actually kind of cool, maybe it will be permanent or off and on.

Kind of reminds me of people who are fluent in two languages dreaming in the 2nd language or switching back and forth ... not that I'm fluent in FCP or framing, but certainly immersed in my NLE as of late.

The compression on my dreams sucks. The blacks always crush, and I can't see what the hell I'm doing.

Try Sorenson Snooze Pro. It takes some of the Z's out of your compression and will certainly make you rest easier.

That's a great idea. I've been using Windoze media player to view the dreams as well. Maybe it's time to hop on the Apple train and download Naptime 7- since they've integrated Z.264.

I actually tend to describe my dreams with film terms. A friend made fun of me once... I was saying something like "and I was running to get away from everyone and then it cut to an exterior of the house and people were climbing out of the windows etc etc etc"

sigh.

BTW your sig banner has me intrigued ... good marketing

I dream in IMAX

Last night I woke up in a sweat. I was dreaming that I was directing a feature, it was the first day of shooting and the producer had changed scripts and all my prep and pre-pro was useless. Right before I woke up I rember the cast trying on costumes that did not fit, while I was trying to read the script.

Dude, you're dreaming my life. Except its not a feature and I am the producer too.

...Your'e the one with that quick ass quote in your sig. I almost changed my production company name to Little Fat Girl productions because of that quote.

Its such a great encapsulation of the digital revolution and its happening right now!

I had a nightmare last night! Dispite the bad windows media compression my dream was at 320 x 240 pilar box style. Plus my audio was playing back at 8bit. :(
