About 3 years ago, I was contacted by a production agent to work as a Field PA on a pilot for MTV. He set up the job, I never spoke with the production company about money. He took a small commission and a piece of my day rate. Right after that I started shooting and I've been doing that for about 2.5 years now.
I live in the Midwest, and I do get to travel shooting spots pretty often but I'm curious about getting on to a show later this year as a cam op. A traveling reality show, or something similar, for the experience. I was wondering if any of you guys used an agent like this to get work, or is living in LA or NY a requirement for this type of networking?
