Do more key frames make it better quality?

When compressing to various file formats with a program like Sorenson, you can choose the rate of keyframes. Every 50 frames, every 100 frames, etc. I've always assumed that more keyframes (like every 20 frames) leads to better quality and bigger files. Am I correct about that?

Too many keyframes will bring the overall quality down. Sorenson recommends one keyframe every 10 seconds. The power in Squeeze is in its ability to combine automatic keyframes with ones you add because it starts counting frames from 0 after every keyframe. You can add your own while scrubbing the video. Another strength in Squueze is in its users' ability to control the threshold of what constitutes a scene change.
