I'm doing some animated interludes with an animator who is using After Effects. He's not done yet but also. I'm trying to figure what I want him to render the files to so I can incorporate them into my Final Cut DV/NTSC project.
I was thinking ProRes files? I know they're big but these sequences aren't long... 30 seconds x 4.
But I was also reading about the Quicktime Animation Codec to have an alpha channel. But I'm not really sure what this means since it's all theory at this point. I've never used an alpha channel in Final Cut. Can anyone have a look at this and tell me if it's something I would want.
He's laid the animation over the video, but he'll render me files without the source video and I will lay it over my video in Final Cut so it all lines up. So do I want alpha channels?
