Do I need Samsung S8 or S9 for video monitor? Older phone brightness is ok?

Hi guys! I need some practical advice.

I am thinking about using my phone as monitor for my DSLR on my gimbal. The new Samsung S8 and S9 have much stronger and brighter screens. Do you think it makes a difference to use a phone with brighter screen (new technology screen) or older (cheaper) phones works almost as good.

Is there anybody who uses these phones as monitors and noticed a difference for field use?

I live and shoot in Florida where sun is very bright.... :)

Using a phone as a field monitor yields low resolution, low FPS, and hight latency. Connecting through a USB OTG cable would be better than Wi-Fi and an app.
