Do film students really need their own cameras?

Good god that's gorgeous, pookie.

The infamous b/f lives in Montreal, which is obviously nothing like Vancouver, but I liked the differences. He doesn't want to live long term in the US and I don't want to live on the east coast, so we're splitting the difference, and when I'm done with school (he'll try to find work in burbank while I'm going to school in Northridge), we'll be splitting the difference and moving together to Van. I really look forward to that experience.

John, I hear that it doesn't snow much in Van, but more in the mountains. Maybe a little in the winter, but not much. It's more of a rainy climate, from what I hear.

I can hadle precipitation and even seasonal snowfall but I need legitimate summer tempatures to keep me sane. I like it hot; sandle weather; tanning weather; beach weather................

Yea a little cooler than California, but then if you like to ski, Grouse is 20 minutes away, and Whistler/Blackcolm is 1 1/2 hours depending on how you drive...

You need to brush up on your geography there John.

Snow, mountains yes, town, a week or two.

Summer temps, averages high 70's.

Polar bears, they've been forced out due to the high real estate market prices.

I havent ski'd (sp?) in year's. I never got past Blue Circles.

Although I've gone down Black Diamond; foolishly. I'm a waterguy; surfing, sailing, fishing (but preferably in warmer climates) and love outdoorsy sports; basketball, tennis, golf.

High 70's? Pttttttttttfffffff.

"High 70's? Pttttttttttfffffff. "......

It was worth a shot...:embarasse

Actually, we're eyeing moving to Hawaii.
I really want to shoot surfing, and the weathers kinda nice.

It is so nice that everyone is friends now :)

Literally just got off MSN with an old friend who has just invited me out to Vancover too... we can all have a party, and discuss whether TIna should hurry up and buy a camera.

Any good kayaking around Vancover Pookie? I fancy the skiing too, but tend to do that in the French Alps.

Water sports are great, but nothing beats full speed down the side of a mountain, edging on completely out of control....

I think it's easy to get spoiled by our California weather. I have to say, this summer has been unseasonably cool, though -- it never got above 80 here so far, except for maybe one or two days in April, which is weird.

Hawaii? I guess as a screenwriter you can work anywhere, eh?

Edited to add: mmm: Shaddap!

"It is so nice that everyone is friends now"...yeesh.....Pookie no have friends.....:cheesy:

Kayaking, everywhere. Paddle with seals, sea lions and killer whales.

Tina, nice addon there.....

Tina

It's been unseasonally hot here in San Diego; we got slammed by that heatwave. Daily highs were high 80's and 90's for a spell. I was in denial.

Nah, mmm, it was the "It is so nice that everyone is friends now". Gave me a bit of indigestion, but I'm over it now. I can see you were just being friendly, so it was a friendly "shaddap!" but I guess you don't know me well enough to know that. :)

You're going to Van? From where? Where do you live? Hope you have a great time, and take pictures!

Cripes. Well, at least the air conditioning won't cost over $300 per month, like it did a few years ago...

mmm is one of our UK bretheren.

OMG You remember that California Energy Crisis crap? Oust the governor! Oh we did.

I suppose if I'd actually looked I'd have known that, eh? Sheesh.

Yeah, wasn't that bullshit? I hope they don't get off scott-free for that, but they probably will. I know that SD took a HUGE hit on that one and it was so unfair.
