Do AA batteries lose charge if left in a device?

I know batteries always lose charge no matter what, but I'm wondering should I leave my Energizer Lithium AA batteries in my LED MicroPro while it's not in use? Or load the batteries each time?
 
All batteries lose the charge overtime. I would never leave batteries in a delicate piece of electronics, or I should say never again. I have had the unfortunate experience of opening a piece of gear that has been sitting for a while and found the batteries to have leaked.
