DJI releases the Phantom 4 Pro V2.0

DJI has updated the Phantom 4 Pro to V2.0. I've been on the fence about jumping in hoping there would be an update with Ocusync so this looks nice. I was also hoping for a camera update but I guess they are saving that and other goodies for the Phantom 5 Pro. What do you all think of the update?

The remote looks the same from the plus model... and wasnt the 4 pro already with mechanical shutter?

The biggest step up for me would be the 100mb/s and side infrared sensors improved.

The new infrared sensors do look promising. I've been waiting for the Mavic Pro 2 or the Phantom Pro 5 but this model is tempting.

The remote looks the same but it's based on OcuSync vs the Lighbridge protocol used in the original Phantom Pro 4 and I don't think it's compatible with the original model. The main advantage of OcuSync is the DJI goggles can be used without being tethered to a remote, making two person operation less cumbersome and less expensive.

I haven't seen anything about the possibility of two remotes being used simultaneously like you can using the master/slave option with the Mavic Pro. I'm planning to fly in a location that has restrictions about where you can take off and land and having two remotes along with a pair of goggles would make it much easier for us to shoot for a 20+ minutes.

I have the 4 pro and it has the same sensors as well as 100mb/s h.265 or h.264 as this V2. The only diff I can see is this OcuSync transmission signal - which they don't explain very well.

I haven't used them but from what I've seen they have been fairly well reviewed. Some of the reviewers seem to think the goggle have limited use for narrative work but are great for other applications like inspection work. Most reviewers have said they work best with the Mavic Pro because of that model's native use of OcuSync. I''m waiting for a few more reviews and hoping that this model will perform as well as the Mavic since it also uses OcuSync.

If I buy the goggles it will be mostly be because I think they will be fun, but I think they could make a great director's monitor as long as the pilots keep control of the copter and camera. For professional work I am more interested in the possibility of dual controllers.

Thanks Gary.

Two people controlling prosumer drones isn't' a likely scenario, for solo operators line of sight is out the window, plus If I was a camera operator I'd prefer to use a remote control, so the goggles seem like a huge gimmick.

I would definitely try them for fun though and can see their benefit for racing and other applications.
