DJI Follow Focus *Owner's Thread* and Impressions

So am I, especially after setting up my Red Rock Micro focus system quite a bit lately. It works really well, but it would make setup a lot easier to not have to rig up both the receiver and the motor, plus the cables to connect them. I wish DJI had released this one when I got my Red Rock :)
 
I will hopefully be adding this to my kit sometime next week, will post back with impressions after a week or two of use.
 
Has anyone updated their focus to the latest firmware?

Per the release notes the hand remote will now remember the last calibration setting:

"Added a function to record motor calibration so that the motor can use the previous settings prior to powering off"

I have quite a bit of experience with dji's aerial products, and unfortunately firmware updates often mess up other previous features that worked without issue.

Anyone willing to be the 1st to try it?

Well today when I got the focus out for a shoot, the handheld unit powered on fine, but the motor will not power on at all anymore.

I tried a different battery, the other included cable, all to no avail.

I had used it for about 3 hours of testing on Saturday with great results.

I emailed dji, and I'm hoping the repair process is not too lengthy.

What batteries are you guys using the D-tap from?
