Diy

Wow!.

Now, I know that there are going to be critical comments about this rig, and that is par for the course on a forum like this. However, I just can't get over just how fortunate the filmmaker is in having a rig like this made by his father. My father passed away in 1981, when I was 18 years old, and though he and I had our issues, we alway had movies. He is the single biggest influence I had in wanting to be a filmmaker.

This support rig, put together by a father and son is the first DIY rig that I have seen that is absolutely PRICELESS.

Antique the look of the wood up a little bit and I bet he'd start getting some decent offers (not that he'd take any of them ofcourse).
Pretty unique rig that actually works.

and that's how they filmed back in the medieval times! the difference is that instead of a camera they had a canvas on it!

That was a good piece of wood he started out with. I couldn't build something like that in a million years.

Wow. He didn't even buy the wood from Home Depot. Just chopped down a tree and got busy!

yeah, it really puts the term "do-it-yourself" into perspective.

there should be two categories from now on: do it yourself, and assemble yourself.
