diy zoom/focus controller - parts?

I want to build my own zoom /focus/iris controller since the ones for sale are so insanely expensive. I would however like to use something that's as easy to control as the bogen / varizoom type deals. Anyone ever take apart one of theirs? what kind of potentiometer do they use.. that is no waht value but rather how do they hook it up with the rocker? is it a special pot or is it like in the other DIY plans - a spring loaded regular pot?
anyone find a source for decent rocker switches?

Fiddler;
I've seen a bunch of LANC based schemats for these, but haven't looked up any for the PANA control codes. I have the ZOE, and am having a problem with the connector being intermittent.. even so, it never really starts or stops slowly enough to feel like a pro-zoom move. (Possibly a bit better than the Varizooms, though, which I've never really liked) The FOXI is priceless! For one of those insanely priced controllers.. Focus and Iris. Great if you have some paying work to justify it with.

Try a search for 'ZOOMER' for one of the Lanc Hacks.. OK, here it is..
This is the code file .. [SIZE=-1]www.bealecorner.com/trv900/EdGrip/zoomer.asm
Remember, this is not the PANASONIC coding.. just a suggestion on where to start..

If you are talking the DVX100b or HVX200, they are straight analog not LANC. Each of the adjustments are done with a 20k pot so it is very straight forward circuit. I think that someone on the forum has already drawn up the wiring and a parts list.

Thanks for the reply uh .. Bobs, but what i was looking for isnt teh pinout; I already know the analog way that panasonic does it - i am looking for actualy physical parts - that is, the rocker switch assmeblies that have a spring return and the like
