DIY Whip for DIY Gearless Follow Focus

Ok, this thing is a follow up project after making the DIY gearless follow focus. I posted this also at the DIY Gearless FF thread here.

I'm posting this separately in case some of you are interested only in making a whip for a FF that you already made -or bought.

To make the gearless FF i made fully functional it must have a whip, especially for those dolly moves and when using the plywood skater.

I needed a material for the whip that is flexible BUT WONT TWIST.

I got the idea for this while I was poopin. While sitting inside the toilet I was able to see under the sink and saw the flexible hose!

Hope you guys can use this not only on my gearless FF design but also if you wanna cheaply retrofit or mod the ones you already have.

I strongly recommend buying the hose rather than ripping out the ones under your sink.

dude this blows my mind (sorta).

Im a somewhat handy guy when it comes to stuff like this. I actually worked in a robotics lab for 4 years building and designing various parts and prototypes and your stuff is even impressive to me.

Do you have a DIY on how you did the rails? I think thats the first building block to build this system (which i REALLY want to do).

thanks for sharing all your knowledge even though
