DIY Softbox light diffuser

I got a video light kit for my cam but it doesnt have adjustable lighting and its pretty bright, so I was thinking of creating a softbox light diffuser to make the light less softer and less bright.

I looked up videos on youtube and it looks like carboard and tin foil will do for the sides, but what about the material at the front? Anybody has recommendations for it? I saw people using bed cloth material but I'll be afraid it will overheat...

Thanks

Thanks, that turned out to be what I was looking for, but B&H have to charge me $45 for delivery even if its just a piece of paper...
Got the same stuff in a local camera shop so all good now :)

Thanks again.

Go to a fabric shop and buy some translucent nylon. I think it is called "rip stop nylon". I bought it and made a set of small soft box diffusers. It doesn't cost much either. It works very well.

softboxes are made all the time on set with black foamcore and gaff tape with 1,2, or 3 slots for diffusion. I've seen many gaffers rig them for parcans are they are very punch lights, and bigger fixtures like 10k's.
