DIY Raincover

haha, yea ive heard of it being done, basically with a durable clear plastic bag and lens filters, basically just cut a circle whole in the bag and then put the filter there... some how sealing the areas between the filter and the bag to make it leak proof...

with a little bit of effort im sure it could be done.

Well, for just a rain cover, a couple good garbage bags always do the trick. just cut out wholes for the lens and mic, and viewfinder/lcd. It has to be the cheapest and simplest way of doing it.

I have a machine that makes bags (it makes bags for stuff that i sell, and will soon be bagging the remote follow focuses) and it uses plastic on big rolls called layflat tubing. Basically its a heavy plastic sheet in a tube shape, like a fire hose. The machine cuts and heat welds the ends. If you got some of that palstic you could put the camera in the tube, and put a tight eleastic band around the end of the lens and something simlar at the other end. No cutting required.

That sounds really cool. Does it suck all the air out of the bag? (vacuum pack)
