DIY Micro35 Update

forum was updated.. So what's the update? Is there a new date for the guide being shipped?

Redrock, don't take this the wrong way but at one point we were told the guide would start shipping 2/01 and it's been over a month. I think we should at least know the status. Pleaseee keep us posted.

I understand your frustration. I'm getting the guide out as fast as I can. I've just run into problem after problem with many of the issues out of my reach. Rest assured though, once the guide starts shipping, I'll change the order process from "Pre-Order Now" to a "Order Now".

I'm really pretty bummed about the lost messages. That seems to be the reason why forums are so great, the ability to research older posts. Oh well.

Now that I'm back in town, you guys should see quite a bit of movement on the Micro35 site.

Just kidding buddy!! We are all waiting patiently. Any product that can give us great results and at the same time save us $9,500 is worth the wait. Thanx for the update. I'll keep checking the website often as well. ~reservoir~
 
What is the difference between using this type of set up with a DVX-100a, and getting a Nikon/Canon lens adapter and using them with my XL1? (Other than the 24p, difference with camera.) Lens to lens comparison, why is this different?
 
Using a straight 35mm adapter on the XL1 (or 2) will not retain all the properties of the 35mm sized frame. Most importantly, it won't give you 35mm depth of field.

Because the lens is designed for a much larger imaging area even very, very wide lenses become telephoto. Not very useful unless you are doing birdwatching etc.

The DIY thread is still there - go into your User CP and display messages with posts in the last two weeks and it should all come back to you. I was reading the old thread last night.
