I think the photographs are pretty clear; nice simple build here, not too much need for a detailed step-by-step.

Always interested to see how people are buying metal bars for DIY projects (like the one that you bent to support the panel at the sides and connect it to the stand) did you just go to the hardware store and then paint it black? Such an expensive way to buy metal, the markup at home depot is insane....

The build looks great, but the light itself seems to be giving off light that is 1) very cold (7000k+) 2) very focused (several feet from the wall and illuminating an area barely 4x larger than the panel... that's a narrow beam) and 3) not very bright. Do you think that this light is giving the bang for the buck that you were hoping for? Those grow panels are pricey...

1) it is cold but thats what CTO is for. 2) ya the bean is small but im not planing on useing these for lighting up a whole street i was planing on useing these for interviews so i donet have to carry around a ton of equipment. 3) and i know that its not that bright but it gets the job done.

and in the end me paying $40ish for the panel, $2 for nuts and bolts, $7 for the flat meatle, and $19 for the TVMP adapter which is about $70 with shipping and stuff beats the crap out of paying $1000 or more for semi the same thing.

i mean i know the light panels are better but i would rather work a llitle more to make it all work then to spend $1000 or more for one light.

I was interested in these ebay lights too.. thanks for posting you results.

There are some lights with amber and white lights... giving you a warmer beam. I think anything above 5600k is to cool for most shoots.

You light really looks good, I like it... But you may get a better color temp, more light and a bunch smaller size out of these crazy little 126 led ebay lights for $63.
