DIY Hi-Hat?

I just got a new Sachtler Video 18 head and now I want to get a Hi-Hat. The problem is, I think $200 is a little too much to spend for something that is such a basic piece of metal. Sooo....has anyone had any luck in making their own Hi-Hat?

Just buy it dude. You just got a $4800 fluid head and you don't want to pay $200 for a high hat? Sounds a little strange to me. But considering this, you've got a very expensive head, and probably an even more expensive camera package that's going on top of that, do you really want to risk all that because you cheaped out on $200 and tried to make one yourself? Maybe its possible as a DIY, but 1. it's not going to be easy/fast and 2. there's a much greater risk for your equipment.

Only 200$ for a Hi-Hat? That's cheap! I spent a lot more for mine and you can't DIY much cheaper (with the same quality!).
